The past few weeks have been the craziest, most intense time for me. I don’t know about you, but I keep feeling like the Universe is throwing curve balls every which way and I’m doing my best to stay grounded and present to move through it all.
Putting it like that, you’d think it’s all bad, but it isn’t! Last weekend my boyfriend and I got engaged and only just yesterday, we closed on our new home. We’re very happy and super excited to start our new life together! During this time though I’ve also been trying to balance crushing deadlines at work, including some very disappointing events surrounding projects I was working on, ups and downs with my health (who gets a cold in the summer?!), yoga classes and workshops, challenges with my mom’s condition, and personal engagements galore (June is sooo busy!). And while all of this is going on I’m still trying to manifest some major changes in my life, because, believe it or not, I’ve been uber inspired this month and am excited to see where this path will lead!
Right, so it may seem like I’m complaining, but I’m not. There’s definitely some karma here that I need to work out and I’m doing my best. I have found, now more than ever, that my yoga and meditation practice, as well as good time management, is the only way I could possibly stay sane through it all. With every new challenge added to my plate, there’s been a healthy dose of awareness, self-talk, and breath to go along with it, and yes, some time for shall we say, emotional expression…I have always been one to land on my feet, even though the fall may not be that graceful. Yeah, I’m tired, but I’ve got to keep movin’ on. Onwards and upwards, right?!
I guess what I’m trying to say is if you’re really going through it, keep going. Don’t give up and don’t stop moving forward out of fear. If you need to slow down, that’s okay, in fact, that’s probably what you need to do! Focus on the good stuff going on in you life and try, although I’m not always so good at this, to let the small stuff roll off your back. Accentuate the positive, find gratitude in every moment, and remember that this too shall pass.
Here’s my parting gift to you for June. Enjoy!
What’s your story? What challenges have you been faced with and thought you would never make it through? What did you do to get through it? How does your yoga practice help?
