I am making a concerted effort to get back to everything that brings me joy this month, the first being a regular practice and regular posting. I’ve had good reason to keep things on the down low but now it’s time to get back into the swing of things. As Patanjali says, now is the time for yoga! (YS. 1.1).
It’s an interesting challenge to take an unintentional hiatus from the things you enjoy. For the past month I’ve been trying to keep my head above water handling all of the emotions, vulnerability and loss of my mother’s passing, while managing the stress of family concerns and a very unhealthy work environment. Needless to say I’m exhausted! There have been good days when I feel like I’m completely in tune with the world around me and other days when everything is a massive discord. I believe I’m doing my best, although it’s not always pretty, and making the most of what has been coming my way. I’m grateful for my supportive friends, my ever patient and loving fiance and of course, my therapist.
Last night I had a dream that there was another earthquake in the area. Instead of freaking out and trying to run and duck for cover I simply stood and felt the earth shake under my feet as the walls came tumbling down around me. I woke up wondering if this is a premonition of things to come? As I made the vow this month to get back to everything that brings me joy, I spent a lot of time considering the work that I am doing and how to make good on my current situation. For the first time in months I feel there is more clarity around the situation. If my dream is any indication, I’m about to get moving and shaking as never before. I hope you’ll join me on this adventure!
