Rachel Carr is a well-versed, caring and motivational yoga teacher. She completed her first certification in 2008 and has been sharing her insight, knowledge and passion for yoga ever since. In 2011, she participated in the Off the Mat, Into the World Leadership Training and received her certification in Prenatal Yoga in 2012. She completed her 500 hour certification with Sri Dharma Mittra in 2014, an endeavor that moved her body and soul. She has co-led and taught in multiple yoga teacher trainings in the DC area. Rachel finished her Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist training at the Himalayan Institute in 2016, an area of study that has brought new depth to her own practice, and plans to continue her studies in 2017.
Rachel was first turned on to yoga while pursuing her degree in Theatre at JMU. Not only was yoga great for honing her performances, but it has also provided her the tools to manage her ulcerative colitis, a condition she was diagnosed with over 20 years ago. Her classes are infused with yogic philosophy, humor, honesty and the ability to meet each student where they are in their practice. Rachel brings a calm and grounded presence to her classes, allowing students to move through their practice in a supportive environment.
