I have been blessed this holiday season as the recipient of some very inspirational and thoughtful gifts and, of course, I had to share. For me, it’s not how much you spend or what store the gift came from, but the thought behind the gift. I truly believe it’s better to give than to receive, so feel good about the gifts you give and inspire others with your thought and consideration.
One of my favorite quotes: “Listen to the mustn’ts, child, listen to the don’ts–listen to the shouldn’ts, the impossibles, the wont’s–listen to the never haves, then listen close to me. Anything can happen child. Anything can be.” –Shel Silverstein
Another cool gift came just today in the form of a brand new coffee mug. Given to me by a good friend and thought to be fitting because of my love of words, literature, and inspirational quotes, this one really hit the mark. I’m having a hard time deciding which line I like the best, but I’m looking foward to discovering my favorite each and every day.
You can find a plethora of gift ideas from Quotable Cards to inspire, elevate, and warm your heart and Self. In my opinion, a daily reminder of all the precious gifts given to us each and every day is worth more than a thousand words.
Of course, I wouldn’t be doing this blog justice without mentioning Rock Love Peace once again and their StarterKitforChange. Check it out!
Simple, sweet, and straight from the heart is all it takes to make somebody’s holiday seem that much brighter. I encourage you to be thoughtful in your gift giving, even beyond the holiday season and into 2010. In order to see the change, be the change, and give the change.
Hari Om and Happy Holidays!
